At Acacia Dental Care, all are welcome. We’re a judgment-free office where you can always get the treatment you need for a bright smile, a healthy mouth, and a pain-free life. Dr. Edwin Brookes, our dentist, has more than two decades of experience in dentistry. Whether you need a simple teeth cleaning, a replacement for an old filling, or a brand new set of dental implants, our team is here for you.

Meet Dr. Edwin Brookes

Dr. Edwin Brookes is originally from the East Coast, but he’s now a proud Wisconsinite. He was born and raised in New Hampshire, and attended college in Upstate New York. After graduating from his undergraduate program, Dr. Brookes got his first taste of dentistry while working as a dental technician at a dental lab. He also worked as a dental hygienist while attending Tufts University for dental school.

Dr. Brookes graduated from Tufts with his dental degree in 2004. After working for six years in a Massachusetts dental practice, he moved to North Carolina to be closer to his then-fiance (now wife) Carolyn, during her residency as an oral surgeon. He also moved with her to Melbourne, Australia during Carolyn’s fellowship at an Australian hospital, where he further broadened his dental horizons. Dr. Brookes has also been involved in dental missions to Ukraine, Haiti, Cape Verde, and Mexico.

Shortly after he and his wife moved to Milwaukee, Dr. Brookes founded Acacia Dental Care in 2017. His goal was to create a practice where patients could get the truly personalized, gentle care they needed for healthy mouths and healthy lives. Dr. Brookes is a highly-qualified dentist with more than 20 years of experience in the field. He’s a member of the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists), the American Dental Association, and the Wisconsin Dental Association, to name just a few.

When he’s not in the office or continuing his dental education, Dr. Brookes is passionate about the outdoors. He loves hiking, skiing, rowing, and many other outdoor activities, as well as cooking and woodworking. You’ll also find him spending time with his wife, Carolyn, and their two children.

What To Expect From Your First Visit

At your first visit, you’ll be welcomed into our comfortable dental office, and you’ll fill out a few forms in our comfortable waiting area. Feel free to relax, and connect to our free WiFi network. When it’s time for your appointment, you’ll be taken back to an operatory. One of our hygienists will take x-rays of your mouth, and check for any obvious dental issues. Then, they’ll clean your teeth. Your hygienist will scrape away plaque and tartar, polish your teeth, and floss them to remove any remaining debris. This leaves you with a clean, healthy, beautiful smile.

After your cleaning is done, Dr. Brookes will come into the room. He will perform a comprehensive oral exam to look for any signs of oral health problems. Then, he’ll discuss his findings with you. If your mouth is healthy, you can simply schedule your next appointment and head home. But if he finds an issue that needs to be addressed, Dr. Brookes will discuss all of your available options, and recommend a treatment plan based on your budget, your schedule, and your own personal preferences.

Dr. Brookes serves as a board member of the Shorewood Business Improvement District, where he works with community leaders to improve Shorewood and the lives of its residents. He has served on dental mission trips to countries like Haiti, Mexico, Cape Verde, and Ukraine. Dr. Brookes also served as the president of Project Stretch, a nonprofit pediatric dental outreach program that serves patients throughout the world.
